Advertising Tips And Tricks (Submit Yours)

In this thread I will let you guys post some tips and tricks to get the best advertising for your forums. In the first post I will post some of my own tips and tricks for the best advertising methods.

So you want to know how to get lots of members?

• First of all you need a forum, make the forum about a subject you enjoy as the more effort you put in the more the forum will succeed!
  
• You will need an appropriate, easy to read quickly and good looking advertisement to post on other websites. There are many different advertisements out there so yours needs to be original, but try to keep with the subject of your forum.
  
• How to spread your advertisement. Sometimes quite tricky to do. A good method is to go through the first board where you are advertising for other advertisements. Search the forum well for an advertising section. Remember! If you follow other peoples rules then they are more likely to follow your rules, so keep this in mind when posting on another forum. If the subject of a forum is not advertising or general talk then unless it is required I wouldn't bother making an account. When going around other forums check first to see if you have advertised already, it may be long but worth it when both your adverts get deleted if you haven't.
  
• Bumping. There are many rules out there for bumping but the most common ones are the one hour rule which allows you to bump your topic after an hour of your last post. The other is the second page rule, where your topic must be off of the first page to then be bumped again. When bumping please be considerate towards other people as they will more than likely look at your advert!
  
• Your signature is one of the best ways to advertise. If you have an image or link to your forums in your signature on a forum then a link to your forum will get posted every time you post. The more times you post and the more posts you make the more you are advertising, and this is the fun way!
  
• Social networking sites are also a good place to advertise as long as their rules are being followed.

If these steps are followed you should have loads of members in no time!
